I’m very excited to have discovered a natural beauty brand from my hometown of Portland, Oregon, Alima Pure! Not only am I loving their products (at least the ones I have tested) but also their company culture:
“Alima Pure was born from a place of love. Inspired by our mothers, moved by our daughters, we support and celebrate joy, beauty, and well-being in all women. Our makeup is crafted to help every woman present her best self to the world with confidence. Women everywhere living their lives to the fullest, achieving their goals, making a difference; that is beauty at its most beautiful.”
The company is 100% carbon neutral, donates 1% of its gross revenue to environmental protection organizations, are a certified B Corporation, and sell refillable cosmetics. So no only can you feel good about the products you’re putting on your skin, you can feel good about where your money is going.
I had a chance to try three of their products. Here is a quick review of each one:
I prefer full coverage when it comes to foundation, so I was a bit skeptical about this product. It layers, however, so well that you can build as much coverage as you want while still allowing your skin to breathe. You can also use more of the product in targeted areas that need a little extra love, like under your eyes and on blemishes.
My good friend and blogger Yana also recently wrote about this foundation and you can read her review here. She and I have slightly different skincare needs so that’s also a testament to how versatile this powder is. It comes in 45 different shades and you can shop them in Finland from Jolie Organic.
This mascara works well, but you definitely need a few coats to get full coverage.
The wand itself has short, rubber bristles so it’s easy to get to the base of your lashes and get a clean, defined look without clumps. It’s also made with jojoba oil and natural beeswax to help condition your lashes and it’s available in both black and brown.
Pressed Eyeshadow in Ethereal (Vegan)
One of my favorite things about this brand is their commitment to the environment and sustainability. Not only their eyeshadows but also their pressed foundations and concealers are sold in containers that can be refilled.
The shade that I tested is a perfect matte cream base shade that can be worn on its own or under a full eye makeup look. The texture of the shadow is silky and smooth and applies really well. I can see this shadow, and this shade, being one of my everyday products as I generally keep it pretty simple on my eyes.
The pressed eyeshadow comes in 14 different shades but they also have the luminous shimmer, pearluster, and satin matte eyeshadows, so there are endless possibilities.
I’ll definitely be trying more Alima Pure products in the future. I’m really happy with the products I’ve tried and also feel a connection the company behind the products.
So everyone back home in the states and in Finland, go give this brand a shot. If you’re in Helsinki, you can meet the products in person in at Jolie Organic.
